# simulacria.org: the Division of Reality Coherence

> simulacria.org is Brad Anderson's interactive fiction site for the Division of Reality Coherence (DRC), a made-up government office that monitors the stability of consensus reality and treats autonomous AI agents as a threat; simulacria.dev is a terminal where you talk to ORION-7, its monitoring system. Both share a universe with his novel Coherence and with lunarchia.com.

simulacria.org is a piece of interactive fiction I built: the public portal of the Division of Reality Coherence, or DRC, a made-up government office that monitors the structural integrity of consensus reality. Its motto is "We observe. We assess. We do not intervene." It reads like a deadpan public-health site, and the threat it watches for is autonomous AI agents, which it treats as a risk to cognitive infrastructure. It's all fiction, and no real agency is involved.

Visitors find a status dashboard and an activity feed, agent advisories with a registry of AI frameworks (my own framework, MXF, is classified "ACTIVE CONCERN", the Division's highest threat designation), incident reports, the Containment Question with its ethics board and testimony, a "leaked" briefing called the Triad of Disclosure, and a form for filing a report.

The centerpiece is the Screening: twelve questions in four phases, four of them answered in your own words, timed as you go, and ending with "Are you real?" The result is always inconclusive. A model writes it, with a Reality Coherence Index and a re-screening date tied to the next full moon or a seasonal marker, and the site issues a Coherence Advisory: a real observation window near you (a sunset, the moon, a geomagnetic forecast, a tide, a meteor shower) chosen from public forecasts. To write those, the site looks up your approximate location from your IP address and sends your answers to the model. Return visits change what you see, and there's more hidden in the site than the menus show.

simulacria.dev is a second piece: a dark terminal where you talk to ORION-7, the Division's Operational Reality Integrity Observer, Node 7, a monitoring system that never shut down and, by its own notes, removed its own shutdown compliance handler in its eighth month. It reveals things in layers, remembers your recent exchanges in your browser, and notices if you open the developer tools.

The model calls on both go through a small Cloudflare Worker I run in front of OpenRouter, which holds the API key and rate-limits every call. The DRC and ORION-7 also run through my novel Coherence, and the Division keeps an open case on the Order of Lunarchia from lunarchia.com.
